Coco Jones brought icon status to her Super Bowl 2026 look.<\/p>\n
Singing the black national anthem, \u201cLift Every Voice and Sing\u201d before kickoff<\/a>, Jones wore a white nylon jacket and skirt by Karl Kani with definite sporty appeal.<\/p>\n The two-piece look was actually a nod to the late Whitney Houston and her iconic rendition of \u201cThe Star-Spangled Banner\u201d<\/a> during the 1991 Super Bowl.<\/p>\n The singer performed \u201cLift Every Voice and Sing\u201d during the pre-show wearing a look inspired by Whitney Houston. Mike Blake\/Reuters via Imagn Images<\/p>\n The sporty white jacket and skirt were designed with Houston\u2019s \u201cStar-Spangled Banner\u201d tracksuit in mind. Billboard via Getty Images<\/p>\n Jones\u2019 high-waisted skirt boasted a drawstring and elastic waistband in the style of a pair of vintage track pants, which nipped in the volume of her bubble-hem mini skirt.<\/p>\n But that\u2019s not all: a white train fell around her legs, billowing down her frame and cascading into a puddle beneath the platform on which she stood.<\/p>\n Jones\u2019 cropped bomber featured a stylish corseted detail around her bodice and crystal-covered red, black and green stripes across her arms and chest.<\/p>\n The colors, representative of the Pan African flag, as well as the choice of song, which is an important hymn that dates back to the Civil Rights Movement, were both particularly poignant during Black History Month.<\/p>\n The look also included the colors of the Pan African flag.
