{"id":157515,"date":"2026-02-09T23:01:46","date_gmt":"2026-02-09T23:01:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/157515\/"},"modified":"2026-02-09T23:01:46","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T23:01:46","slug":"portion-of-gilleland-creek-trail-in-pflugerville-to-close","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/157515\/","title":{"rendered":"Portion of Gilleland Creek Trail in Pflugerville to close"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAs the city of Pflugerville continues work on its <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/austin\/pflugerville-hutto\/development\/2025\/01\/10\/pflugervilles-vision-for-an-expanded-downtown\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Downtown East project<\/a>, a portion of Gilleland Creek Trail will close to allow construction on future connections to the city hub and the <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/austin\/pflugerville-hutto\/government\/2025\/02\/26\/pflugerville-names-new-multigenerational-recreation-center\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Monarch Recreation Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Overview<\/p>\n<p>The trail is expected to close Feb. 17 and last for approximately one year. While the trail is closed, the city will install signage for a detour that will add about 1,000 feet, or 0.2 miles, to the route.<\/p>\n<p>Remember this?<\/p>\n<p>The city broke ground in December 2024 on phase 1 of the downtown project, which will include a new city hall, multigenerational recreation center and civic plaza.
