\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAllen<\/a> will see new entertainment options, office space and restaurants along SH 121 as three major developments make progress.<\/p>\n

Construction is underway at Sloan Corners<\/a> and The Farm<\/a>, while Kalahari<\/a> is in the design phase, project officials said Check out updates on these three projects.<\/p>\n

1. Sloan Corners<\/p>\n

Plans for Sloan Corners are moving forward following an economic incentive agreement<\/a> with the city of Allen.<\/p>\n

The 10-year agreement creates an additional stream of tax dollars for the city, and in return, Billingsley Company<\/a> will receive a rebate for a portion of their construction costs, per city documents.<\/p>\n

The nearly 500-acre mixed use project, developed by Billingsley Company, is slated to include:<\/p>\n

10.6 million square feet of office space220,000 square feet of retail space6,000 multifamily unitsCarey Morgan, vice president of marketing at Billingsley, said in an email that Sloan Corners will be a \u201csignificant mixed-use destination for the area.\u201d Construction is already underway as part of the project\u2019s first phase. Its second phase is expected to \u201cbegin soon,\u201d Morgan said.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Phase 2] will include a sizable retail district along SH 121,\u201d Morgan said in an email. \u201cWe\u2019re already in discussions with several high-quality retail concepts and look forward to announcing those partnerships in the near future.\u201d<\/p>\n

The development\u2019s first phase included construction of a new luxury apartment community called Hartwood<\/a> and Bravo Park,<\/a> a 3-acre waterfront park that\u2019s now open to the public. The park features a scenic pond with walking trails, three dog parks and free pickleball courts, Morgan said.<\/p>\n

The park is nearing completion and a grand opening is expected in April, she said.<\/p>\n

2. The Farm<\/p>\n

The Farm is a 135-acre mixed use development located east of Sloan Corners along SH 121.<\/p>\n

When completed, the development will include<\/p>\n

Over 300 residential unitsMore than 100 townhomes102,000 square feet of office spaceFarmWorks One<\/a>, a three-story office building, is already open and now leasing. In addition, Chicken and Pickle<\/a> opened at The Farm last May and The Hub<\/a> is open with 23,000 square feet of restaurant space.<\/p>\n

The development is expected to have a bigger focus on residential development than other projects in the area, JaRyCo Development President Bruce Heller said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is going to be more of a place where, whether you live there, you work there, or you live in the 3 miles around it, you can go and relax and sit by the lake and grab something to eat,\u201d Heller said.<\/p>\n

Construction of the third residential phase, which includes 300 units, is scheduled to begin in the next 90 days, Heller said.<\/p>\n

In addition, Hilton Home2 Suites has purchased land for the first hotel at The Farm and is expected to begin construction in July, Heller said.<\/p>\n

3. Kalahari<\/p>\n

Since Allen City Council approved an economic incentive agreement <\/a>with Kalahari last year, the project has been in the design phase, said Dan Bowman, president of the Allen Economic Development Corp.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe process they’re in right now is taking a look at this particular site that we have in Allen and saying, \u2018How do we design this facility in a thoughtful way to very specifically fit the Allen market?\u2019\u201d Bowman said.<\/p>\n

Once the developers have decided on a high-level design, likely in late 2026, the project will go before the Planning and Zoning Commission, giving community members a chance to share feedback, Bowman said.<\/p>\n

The $950 million proposed Allen resort would span 1.2 million square feet, and include:<\/p>\n
