The Dallas Area Rapid Transit board is inviting riders and residents to a series of community meetings in several cities ahead of possible withdrawal elections<\/a> in May. If those elections are successful, the agency predicts significant service changes<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Addison<\/a>, Plano, Farmers Branch, Irving, Highland Park and University Park<\/a> have scheduled elections to ask voters if they want to cut ties with the regional transit agency<\/a>. The cities have until late February to finalize ballots and until mid-March to rescind their election plans altogether.<\/p>\n

In addition to the meetings, the transit agency is required by law to host a public hearing ahead of potential changes. The hearing will be held during the DART board meeting scheduled for March 24 at 6 p.m. at DART\u2019S headquarters, 1401 Pacific Ave. in Dallas.<\/p>\n
