Bringing sounds from the Emerald Isle to our corner of the Metroplex, Socks in the Frying Pan<\/a> will appear this Sunday, February 15, at Love & War in Texas<\/a>. Formed in the Irish music hub of County Clare, the band\u2019s combination of traditional music and harmonies with a touch of humor has earned accolades including \u201cLive Band of the Year\u201d at the Celtic Music Awards.\u00a0<\/p>\n The trio includes Calum Bell on fiddle, David McKindley-Ward on guitar, and Shane Hayes on accordion. While this will be their first visit to Plano, the Socks have toured extensively across the U.S. and around the world. Sunday\u2019s show is part of the band\u2019s latest coast-to-coast tour with visits to 17 states planned through the St. Patrick\u2019s Day season.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve always had a special love of Texas,\u201d says Hayes, noting the band\u2019s two prior appearances at the North Texas Irish Festival<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019ve had amazing crowds, made some great friends, and experienced fantastic support, so we jump at any chance to get back.\u201d<\/p>\n The Socks tease \u201cinfectious, feel good, toe-tapping music\u201d in advance of Sunday\u2019s performance, with dancing encouraged from the crowd.
