Club owner among 2 dead, 15 wounded after drive-by outside SE Houston nightclub<\/a><\/p>\nProsecutors allege Lenton opened fire into a crowd from inside a car, killing 21-year-old Destini Butler and 48-year-old Paul Stevenson. <\/p>\n
Stevenson was identified by loved ones as the owner of the club. He was reportedly given the nickname \u201cJune Bug\u201d by friends and bar patrons.<\/p>\n
Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Butler dead at the scene. Stevenson was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.<\/p>\n
15 other bystanders were injured in the shooting and taken to area hospitals. Authorities previously said the victims included eight males ranging in age from 17 to 52 and seven females between the ages of 14 and 21.<\/p>\n
Court documents related to Lenton\u2019s arrest state he and three other co-defendants\u2014identified as Jaquavian Alfred, Jessie Alfred and Joseph Raines\u2014allegedly carried out a drive-by shooting into a crowd of people. Specific charges for the others involved have not been released.<\/p>\n
Records also show Lenton has a prior conviction for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm. <\/p>\n
In that case, Lenton\u2019s deferred adjudication was revoked on Jan. 21, 2026, after he violated the terms of his probation. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to five years in prison. <\/p>\n
In the capital murder case, Lenton has been granted a bond set at $2 million, according to court records.<\/p>\n
