U.S. News & World Report has ranked four Arlington ISD high schools among the best in America.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0U.S. News & World Report\u00a0Best High Schools<\/a>\u00a0list, a national recognition awarded to campuses that\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0outstanding academic achievement and student success, includes Arlington Collegiate High School, Arlington College and Career High School, Martin High School, and Seguin High School.<\/p>\n

For the Arlington ISD\u2019s two early college high schools \u2013 Arlington Collegiate and Arlington College and Career \u2013 the honor is welcome but not surprising.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited for this honor because it shows those outside our campus the hard work our teachers and students put in every day at Arlington Collegiate High School,\u201d said Arlington Collegiate Principal Jeff Krieger.<\/p>\n

The two early college high schools \u2013 where students complete high school and an associate degree at the same time \u2013 are known statewide for their academic excellence. In fact, in Texas, approximately 40% of students at early college high schools graduate with their high school diploma and an associate degree. In the Arlington ISD, more than 90% of our students achieve both.<\/p>\n

Excellence is what Arlington ISD\u2019s traditional high schools are all about, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt\u00a0#SeguinNation, \u2018Where Excellence is the Standard,\u2019 we are grateful for all of our stakeholders \u2013 students, staff, and parents \u2013 who played a role in achieving this honor,\u201d said Seguin Principal Billy Linson.<\/p>\n

Martin High School Principal Marlene Roddy is proud of the recognition, too, but is focused on the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud of the work by our staff and students who are at the heart of this accomplishment,\u201d Roddy said. \u201cWe will continue to set goals that address student achievement and success with the hopes that we can sustain our mission and momentum in future years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arlington ISD\u2019s Board of Trustees honored these four high schools at its Nov. 20 school board meeting.<\/p>\n

U.S. News & World Report\u00a0evaluated more than 24,000 public high schools across the country. Rankings were based on key measures of excellence, including college readiness, state assessment performance, curriculum breadth, underserved student outcomes, and graduation rates.
