Buddy Guy, one of the last pioneers of electric blues, will bring his Buddy Guy 90 tour to San Antonio\u2019s Majestic Theatre on Thursday, Aug. 27. <\/p>\n

The tour follows Guy\u2019s ninth Grammy win \u2014\u00a0Best Traditional Blues Album for Ain\u2019t Done with the Blues \u2014 and the SA stop will come shortly after legendary guitarist-vocalist\u2019s 90th birthday. Guy is also is riding high after playing a pivotal role in Ryan Coogler\u2019s critically acclaimed vampire film\u00a0Sinners.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday via the Majestic box office. <\/p>\n

Born in Lettsworth, Louisiana, Guy worked Chicago bars and club, becoming a key architect of the West Side sound that brought gritty rural blues to an urban audience. His searing guitar work and soulful vocal delivery influenced generations of followers, from Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan to John Mayer. <\/p>\n

Starting in the \u201970s, the Guy\u2019s screeching, rapid-fire guitar style and consummate showmanship won over fans outside the traditional blues scene, and he\u2019s since been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

Released last year, Guy\u2019s Ain\u2019t Done With the Blues features collaborations with artists including The Blind Boys of Alabama, Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton, Christone \u201cKingfish\u201d Ingram and Joe Bonamassa. <\/p>\n
