An 18-year-old man accused of fatally shooting his friend during an argument over sharing french fries<\/a> inside a west Fort Worth apartment was arrested on Monday, according to jail records.<\/p>\n Lemarques Darden was booked in the Fort Worth City Jail and faces a murder charge in connection with the death of 19-year-old Jarvis Davis.<\/p>\n Officers responded to the shooting about 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 28 at an apartment complex near the 9500 block of Jeremiah Drive, Fort Worth police have said.<\/p>\n The friends along with two women and children were finishing a meal from Wingstop at the apartment when the argument led to gunfire<\/a>, Davis\u2019 mother, Sherika Kennedy, told the Star-Telegram.<\/p>\n When Davis declined to share his fries, the suspect got angry and fired a bullet into his head, Kennedy said.<\/p>\n Davis was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, where he died several hours later in the trauma ICU, according to police.<\/p>\n The suspect, who lived in the same apartment complex, fled after the shooting, police said.<\/p>\n \u201cHe didn\u2019t think he was going to get shot, especially over french fries that [were] his,\u201d Kennedy said.<\/p>\n Davis, who had lived in Fort Worth for a year, grew up in Shreveport-Bossier City, Louisiana. He moved with his family to Texas in 2020, settling in Lewisville, his mother said.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was only 19, with his whole future ahead of him,\u201d Kennedy wrote in a GoFundMe post<\/a>. \u201cHe was a loving son, a protective brother, and a fun-loving uncle to his three nieces.
