The milestone builds off record-breaking numbers for fall enrollment in 2025, with 97,294 students taking classes last semester, <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/tomball-magnolia\/education\/2025\/09\/12\/lone-star-college-enrollment-up-59-from-last-year-with-more-than-97000-students\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Community Impact previously reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1972, LSCS has several campuses across the Greater Houston area and specializes in low-cost academic transfer and career training education, per its website.<\/p>\n<p>Quotes of note<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Lone Star College System isn&#8217;t just seeing enrollment growth. We&#8217;re retaining and graduating more students year after year,&#8221; Chancellor Mario K. Castillo said in a statement. &#8220;This is a true testament to the support we offer students beyond the classroom, from food pantries and mental health services to student life programs that keep students engaged in their educational goals.&#8221;&#8221;We are increasing access to education across the growing Houston region, students are succeeding in their coursework, and we are dedicated to ensuring our graduates can help meet local workforce needs,&#8221; Vice Chancellor of Student Success Gerald F.
