St. Mary’s St., captured the moment a vendor placed the comb on a shelf. The item, sheathed in a protective velvet case, was nestled behind a corner of the cabinet’s frame to hide it from view, as it was already sold.

“He stashed it in a manner where it was kind of tucked away, you couldn’t see it from the front,” Hernandez said.

And here’s where the creepy part comes in: moments later, camera footage showed the comb suddenly flying off the shelf toward customers.

“We tried to debunk it, and we couldn’t figure out how it happened,” Hernandez said. “But it kind of jumped out in a manner where it looked like it had some force behind it, and didn’t just drop out because of gravity or something.”

This incident happened after multiple customers reported experiencing strange energy in the boutique, Hernandez told the Current, particularly on its second level.

One customer reported that she suddenly felt faint as she visited the upper floor, which led her to believe someone had died in the century-old former home by falling down its stairs.

Hernandez said he hasn’t witnessed any ghostly happenings in person, but he believes in such things wholeheartedly.

“I’ve heard numerous stories and customers that are sensitive to that paranormal kind of thing that they feel energies, and they’re good and bad — mostly good,” he said. “And you know I see little orbs and stuff in my surveillance monitors when I’m there at the shop at night.”

Subscribe to SA Current newsletters.

Follow us: Apple News | Google News | NewsBreak | Reddit | Instagram | Facebook | Twitter | Or sign up for our RSS Feed

Related Stories

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="600" src="https://www.newsbeep.com/us-tx/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Screen-Shot-2025-10-10-at-1.22.22-PM.png" class="attachment-newspack-article-block-landscape-medium size-newspack-article-block-landscape-medium wp-post-image" alt="San Antonio’s spookiest haunted places and urban legends" data-hero-candidate="1" data-attachment-id="382207" data-permalink="https://www.sacurrent.com/news/san-antonio-news/san-antonios-spookiest-haunted-places-and-urban-legends/attachment/screen-shot-2025-10-10-at-1-22-22-pm/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/www.sacurrent.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Screen-Shot-2025-10-10-at-1.22.22-PM.png?fit=1000%2C641&ssl=1" data-orig-size="1000,641" data-comments-opened="0" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"0"}" data-image-title="Screen Shot 2025-10-10 at 1.22.22 PM" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="<p>Devil’s Den<br />
Located near Ingram Park Mall, this eerie spot has a haunting history. Known as a fave spot for 90s kids shenanigans including smoking, paintball and underage drinking, urban legends have surrounded this spot regarding supposed satanic rituals and murders. Two teenage boys were in fact murdered in 1996 and were missing for a month before their bodies were discovered in the field behind the Piper’s Creek subdivision in Northwest San Antonio on December 1, 1996. Gossip around the murders led to rumors that the victims, Christian Moldanado and Eric Anderson, were murdered in a Satanic ritual.
