The phased approach is designed to bring fees in line with the actual cost of services and ensure compliance with new state regulations.

Over the years, only limited fee changes have been made, typically in response to state legislative mandates, local ordinance updates, or City reorganizations. As a result, many fees no longer adequately reflect the cost of providing services. The upcoming changes will ensure that the City can continue to offer efficient and sustainable permitting services.

Phase I: Effective July 15, 2025

Approved by the Arlington City Council on June 24, 2025, the first phase of fee adjustments includes updates to:

Platting
Zoning
Sign permits
Special event parking
Temporary outdoor and special events
Trade permits (e.g. validations and various inspections for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and irrigation systems)
Board and Commission and special staff meetings associated with permitting applications
Gas well drilling
Health permits

Health Services Fee Updates: Effective Sept. 1, 2025

Ahead of Phase 2 fee changes, updates to certain Health Services permitting activities will take effect on Sept. 1, 2025. These adjustments were required to comply with recently passed state legislation.

Both Phase I and Health Fees are incorporated into the existing fee schedule.

View Current Fee Schedule

Phase 2: Effective Oct. 1, 2025

On Sept. 16, 2025, the City Council approved second phase of changes which includes new or revised fees related to:

Residential and commercial construction building permits and plan reviews
Certificates of Occupancy
Sign permits and inspections
Additional zoning revisions

View Phase 2 Proposed Fee Changes(PDF, 118KB)

For general questions, please call Planning and Development Services at 817-459-6502.

Published on September 26, 2025 The City of Arlington’s Planning and Development Services…

[13
150,152,151
0":"post-159839","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-arlington","8":"tag-arlington","9":"tag-arlington-headlines","10":"tag-arlington-news
["GET
