Instituto De Cultura Hisp\u00e1nica De Corpus Christi invites families to a free brunch on Saturday at 1617 N. Chaparral Street, celebrating culture and friendship.<\/p>\n
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A free Valentine\u2019s Day brunch in downtown Corpus Christi will focus on self-care, emotional well-being, and celebrating the women who help strengthen the community.<\/p>\n
Las Damas del Instituto, part of the Instituto of Hispanic Culture of Corpus Christi, is hosting the special gathering this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 1617 N. Chaparral Street.<\/p>\n
Nueces County Judge Joe Benavides says the event is open to women, families, and community members of all ages.<\/p>\n
Judge Benavides, representing Las Damas, said the brunch\u00a0is designed\u00a0to bring generations together in a supportive space.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s for all the damas\u2026 You can bring your daughters also, with your moms,\u201d Benavides said.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s a free brunch from 10 to 12 on Valentine\u2019s Day.\u201d<\/p>\n
The theme centers on\u00a0self-love and caring for emotional health, an idea organizers say is especially meaningful during the month of love. Event leaders say women often put their own needs last, and this brunch offers time to pause, connect, and recharge.<\/p>\n
Benavides credited Instituto President Domingo Flores and guest speaker Dorley Espinoza for organizing the program and selecting the topic.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey thought that topic was more important to the damas,\u201d he said, noting the focus is on encouraging women to prioritize their well-being.<\/p>\n
Attendees can expect meaningful conversation, cultural connection, and a welcoming atmosphere.<\/p>\n
Organizers say the Instituto hosts monthly cultural and educational events to celebrate Hispanic heritage and strengthen community ties. Benavides added that the organization also partners with local courts on youth diversion programs held at the museum, where young people learn about the consequences of vaping, underage drinking, and other risky behaviors.<\/p>\n
