Carolyn Price, the Dallas Cowboys\u2019 self-proclaimed No. 1 fan<\/a> and a fixture around the team for decades, died Monday, her family said on social media. She was 82.<\/p>\n

The cause was cancer, her family said.<\/p>\n

Price, a Dallas native, followed the Cowboys all over, from training camp in Oxnard, California, to even the team\u2019s last international game<\/a> in London in 2014.<\/p>\n

Known as \u201cMs. Price,\u201d she often drew attention at training camp by yelling out players\u2019 names.<\/p>\n

She released a book about her life in 2017 titled \u201cPriceless Dream: The Story of the Dallas Cowboys #1 Fan.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s a friend of the owner and his family, a mother figure to the players, a cheerleader on game day and so much more,\u201d a promotional synopsis of the book reads. \u201cMajor television shows profile her, radio programs interview her, and other fans request pictures with her.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe handles it all with a unique combination of grace, humility and unbridled boisterousness that has to be seen to be believed. A Cowboys\u2019 game telecast would not be complete without a shot of her on the sideline, immaculately adorned in the team\u2019s regalia, raising the decibel level with her vociferous voice.\u201d<\/p>\n

ESPN, CBS and more interviewed Price about her fandom over the years.<\/p>\n

Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, who has been with the team since 2023, paid tribute to Price.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys issued a statement later Tuesday:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way Ms. Price loved the Cowboys was truly priceless. She was one of a kind and expressed her special love and care for players, coaches, staff, and all things Cowboys, in every way she could for decades. We will always hear her voice calling out our names and offering her support. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n
