After left-wing progressive candidates retook multiple seats that were won by Republicans in 2021, the Cy-Fair ISD is now set to return material relating to climate change and cultural diversity to its curriculum.<\/p>\n
According to a report from KHOU-11, the elements were removed by the more conservative board two years ago but are now set to return during the upcoming school year. The vote to reinstate them was 4\u20133.<\/p>\n
Political strategist Vlad Davidiuk is pointing to the situation in Cy-Fair as an example of just how critical down-ballot races like school board elections are. He told KTRH: \u201cA lot of Republicans wound up shooting themselves in the foot and allowing these things to happen because the focus was not on winning these races.\u201d<\/p>\n
He went on to say that in future elections, Republicans who want to win these races need to put a hyper-local focus on them. \u201cRepublicans need to do a better job driving the message from the community to the community,\u201d he said. \u201cWorking to find good candidates early, working to recruit those good candidates early.\u201d<\/p>\n
