As the deputy began to accelerate a bicyclist crossed in front of his unmarked vehicle and did not stop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">LSO says the deputy\u2019s front bumper struck the bicycle, knocking it over. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The bicyclist and their dog, who was riding in the basket, were both unharmed. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Following a review of the collision, the bicyclist was issued a citation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">LSO says while no one was injured in the crash, the department reminds all motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists the importance of obeying crosswalks and traffic signals when on roadways. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIf you are crossing a roadway on a bicycle or on foot, please use the provided crosswalks and look at the traffic signals,\u201d LSO said. \u201cMotorists are encouraged to exercise caution when accelerating from a stop to ensure the safety of all citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 KCBD.
