The City of Arlington is launching a new video series, \u201cWhat\u2019s Going There, Arlington?\u201d, to give residents a closer look at new businesses, restaurants, parks and experiences taking shape across the city. Each episode highlights projects that are opening soon, under construction or transforming familiar locations \u2014 answering one of Arlington\u2019s most frequently asked questions: &#8220;What\u2019s going there?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The information below comes from City of Arlington records, such as permits and development information,\u00a0and the details are provided directly by the businesses. As timelines and plans can change, we always recommend checking with the business for the most up-to-date information.<\/p>\n<p>The first episode features a mix of recently opened favorites and exciting projects on the way.<\/p>\n<p>Mama Cuca\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>200 E. Front St. | Urban Union, Downtown Arlington<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mamacucas.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mama Cuca\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0opened Thursday, Feb. 4, bringing bold, authentic Mexican flavors to the Urban Union district in Downtown Arlington. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and crave-worthy dishes, Mama Cuca\u2019s adds another locally owned dining option to the growing Downtown food scene.<\/p>\n<p>The Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque<\/p>\n<p>1600 E. Copeland Road<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nA Texas barbecue staple is coming to East Arlington. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.royhutchinsbbq.com\/\" title=\"https:\/\/www.royhutchinsbbq.com\/\" data-linkindex=\"6\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque<\/a>will open a new location in the former Texas Land &amp; Cattle building just off Interstate 30 in March 2026. The new location will serve the restaurant\u2019s signature smoked meats and classic sides, continuing a long-standing North Texas barbecue tradition.<\/p>\n<p>Caravan Court Hotel<\/p>\n<p>205 N. Collins St.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nSet to open in May 2026, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valenciahotelcollection.com\/caravan-court.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Caravan Court Hotel<\/a>\u00a0will bring boutique hospitality to the Entertainment District. Part of the Valencia Hotel Collection, the hotel will offer a retro-inspired design with modern amenities, adding a new lodging option near Arlington\u2019s entertainment, sports and cultural destinations.<\/p>\n<p>DICK\u2019S House of Sport<\/p>\n<p>Parks Mall at Arlington<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dickssportinggoods.com\/s\/marketing\/houseofsport?srsltid=AfmBOorl7aZYq_Zx3g4zh3Xg15_Dj9gG_-gGDFknWOkv6-Ax1EnbWCAn\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">DICK\u2019S House of Sport<\/a>, a new anchor at the Parks Mall at Arlington, is expected to open this summer. The two-story store will feature approximately 120,000 square feet of retail and experience space, transforming the former Sears location into an interactive sports destination.<\/p>\n<p>In-store experiences will include a climbing wall, multiple golf bays equipped with TrackMan\u2122 simulators, HitTrax\u2122 multi-sport cages for baseball, softball, soccer and more, as well as an outdoor field. When it opens, the Arlington location will be one of only five DICK\u2019S House of Sport stores in Texas and one of just 36 nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Al Rollins Park<\/p>\n<p>3311 SW Green Oaks Blvd.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nLocated next to the Southwest Branch Library, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlingtontx.gov\/City-Services\/Public-Projects-Construction\/A-Z-List-of-Public-Projects\/Parks-Recreation-Culture-Capital-Projects\/Al-Rollins-Park\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Al Rollins Park<\/a>\u00a0is a new neighborhood park scheduled to open by the end of summer 2026. The park will expand outdoor recreation options in Southwest Arlington and provide a welcoming green space for families and visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Chipotle<\/p>\n<p>1537 W. Randol Mill Rd.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nA new Chipotle location is set to open Feb. 25 and will include a drive-thru for convenient pickup. The restaurant will offer its popular made-to-order burritos, bowls and salads, adding another fast-casual dining option in the area.<\/p>\n<p>7 Leaves Caf\u00e9 and McDonald\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>1430 S. Cooper St. and 4801 W. Pioneer Pkwy.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nA new two-suite building at 1430 S. Cooper St. will soon welcome 7 Leaves Caf\u00e9, known for its specialty teas and handcrafted drinks. Meanwhile, a new McDonald\u2019s is coming to 4801 W.
