Calallen came tearing into Thursday’s game with four straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Amarillo Sandies get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory.

Jordyn Thibodeaux made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Thibodeaux was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That’s the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, Kylie Butcher and Audryna Almaraz did most of the damage at the plate: Butcher went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Almaraz went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave Almaraz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kiana Vargas, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Calallen’s win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calallen will host Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Amarillo, they will be playing at home against Palo Duro at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
