AUSTIN, Texas \u2014 It\u2019s Wednesday Friendsday on We Are Austin, and this week\u2019s featured guest is a four-legged friend with a whole lot of love to give. Meet \u201cLittle Little,\u201d a sweet pup from the Austin Humane Society <\/a>who\u2019s currently looking for his forever home.<\/p>\n

Sarah Hammel with the Austin Humane Society joined Sierra Waggoner to share more about this lovable dog!<\/p>\n

Little Little is a kind, sweet, gentle giant with a calm spirit, loving nature, and heart-melting personality\u2014and Sierra said he\u2019s the most well-behaved, affectionate, and lovable dog she\u2019s ever had on the show!<\/p>\n

When it comes to his ideal match, Little Little would thrive in a calm, patient home with people who are ready to give him the attention he deserves. “He\u2019s the kind of dog who really bonds with his people and just wants to be close to them,” Hammel said.<\/p>\n

Little Little has already spent time in a foster home, and his foster family had great things to say!<\/p>\n

“I know he weighs about 75 pounds and is around seven years old. He\u2019s great with other dogs\u2014he\u2019s lived with quite a few\u2014and I think he\u2019d do well with kids too. He\u2019s super easygoing with a very gentle spirit. He seems to bond quickly with people; I hadn\u2019t spent much time with him before today, and he hopped right into my car like he was ready to go. He\u2019s a big guy who needs a bit of space, but other than that, he\u2019s an easy keeper.<\/p>\n

We also know he\u2019s a bit of a Velcro dog\u2014he wants to be around his people all the time. He doesn\u2019t do well being left alone for long periods, like 10 to 12 hours. So, he\u2019d be best in a home with a big family or someone who\u2019s around often. He loves being underfoot, keeping an eye on everything you do. Honestly, if anyone out there is looking for a loyal companion, this is the perfect dog for you.”<\/p>\n

The Austin Humane Society is also gearing up for its biggest fundraiser of the year\u2014Rags to Wags. “It’s our signature gala and it helps raise critical funds that support pets like Little Little all year long,” Hammel said.<\/p>\n

Sarah said, \u201cRags to Wags is happening this Saturday, and it\u2019s our biggest fundraiser of the year. This night typically raises over $800,000, which is truly transformative for dogs like Little Little and all the animals we save. It\u2019s a great time with a live auction, a silent auction, and adoptable puppies, kittens, and dogs onsite. We\u2019re also raffling off a brand-new car\u2014you can still buy tickets for our golden raffle ticket and have a chance to win.<\/p>\n

What makes this night so special is being able to share the stories of these amazing animals. Most of the pets you\u2019ll see came to us with medical needs or difficult backstories, and we get to show the work we\u2019ve done to help them heal and find forever homes.<\/p>\n

We serve over 13,000 animals each year\u2014not only pets like Little Little who need homes, but also those with significant medical issues. We even run a pet food pantry to help families in need keep their pets, so they don\u2019t have to surrender them. All the dollars raised go directly to saving more lives.<\/p>\n

If you can\u2019t make it to the gala, you can still support us by participating in the online silent auction or purchasing raffle tickets for the car. There are lots of ways to get involved and help these animals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even if you\u2019re not looking to adopt, there are still ways to support AHS, from fostering and volunteering to donating or attending events!<\/p>\n
