TCU\u00a0Baseball season is upon us with an exciting series\u00a0starting\u00a0at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Horned Frogs will compete in the Shriners Children\u2019s College Showdown beginning Friday, February 13 at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

TCU will face No. 23 Vanderbilt, No. 7 Arkansas, and the University of Oklahoma, a lineup that will undoubtedly open the season with high-level, competitive play.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Big\u00a012\u00a0Sports<\/a>,\u00a0TCU was unanimously picked by all 13 league head coaches as the preseason favorite in the 2026 Big 12 Baseball Preseason Poll.<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s talent is already being recognized, as Sawyer Strosnider, Tommy LaPour, and Lucas Franco claimed three of the four Big 12 preseason yearly awards.<\/p>\n

Strosnider was named Preseason Player of the Year, LaPour earned Preseason Pitcher of the Year, and Franco was selected as Preseason Freshman of the Year. These titles are just a few of the accolades the trio has earned thus far.<\/p>\n

Graduate student and second baseman Cole Cramer was the lone Horned Frog to start and play all 59 games last season. Looking ahead, Cramer said, \u201cIt\u2019s nice when you get hot at the end, of course, but we want to be playing our best baseball consistently all season long.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cramer was also ranked the No. 4 preseason second baseman in the Big 12 by D1Baseball.<\/p>\n

Despite losing key players to both the MLB Draft and the transfer portal following last season, the Horned Frogs\u2019 roster is far from lacking talent.<\/p>\n
