{"id":163404,"date":"2026-02-13T16:57:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T16:57:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/163404\/"},"modified":"2026-02-13T16:57:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T16:57:08","slug":"city-of-fort-worth-invites-input-from-txwes-entrepreneurship-network-for-city-planning-the-rambler","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/163404\/","title":{"rendered":"City of Fort Worth invites input from TxWes Entrepreneurship Network for city planning \u2013 The Rambler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a class=\"modal-photo photooverlay\" data-story-id=\"24356\" data-photo-id=\"24357\" href=\"#photo\" aria-haspopup=\"dialog\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-label=\"View larger version of image.\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/A5-1200x800.jpg\" alt=\"City of Fort Worth Planning Division Assistant Director Eric Fladager speaks during the Q&amp;A panel.    \" style=\"width:100%\" class=\"catboxphoto feature-image\"\/><\/a>                    <\/p>\n<p>City of Fort Worth Planning Division Assistant Director Eric Fladager speaks during the Q&amp;A panel.    <\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0Feb.\u00a010\u00a0the\u00a0Entrepreneurship\u00a0Network\u00a0welcomed\u00a0representatives from\u00a0Fort Worth\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fortworthtexas.gov\/departments\/city-manager\/department-divisions\/planning\/comprehensiveplan\/2050-comprehensive-plan\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reimagine: 2050 Comprehensive Plan,<\/a>\u00a0part of a new partnership with the City of Fort Worth.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The meeting,\u00a0held\u00a0in the\u00a0Jack Morton Accelerator Room, invited students to\u00a0enjoy\u00a0lunch\u00a0while discussing\u00a0what\u00a0they\u2019d\u00a0like to see in\u00a0Fort\u00a0Worth\u00a0by 2050, including\u00a0businesses, recreation\u00a0centers\u00a0and\u00a0public\u00a0transportation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the project\u00a0proposal,\u00a0the city representatives also held a Q&amp;A\u00a0session\u00a0about the 2050 Comprehensive Plan, as well as\u00a0general questions\u00a0about city planning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With Fort Worth being one of the\u00a0most\u00a0heavily\u00a0populated cities in the U.S.,\u00a0handling the\u00a0anticipated\u00a0influx\u00a0was a topic of discussion.\u00a0This included\u00a0exchanges\u00a0about the types of urban\u00a0developments\u00a0in Fort Worth\u00a0and\u00a0how residence, business\u00a0and corporate\u00a0spaces can coexist.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>First-year\u00a0business administration\u00a0student Ricardo Escamilla\u00a0was interested in\u00a0the\u00a0solutions for accommodating Fort Worth\u2019\u00a0growing population.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were talking about\u00a0different types\u00a0of cities. That\u00a0kind of broadened my\u00a0perspective,\u201d\u00a0Escamilla said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reimagine Fort Worth welcomes input from those living in our community.\u00a0Online community engagement is encouraged on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.connectfw.com\/comprehensive-plan\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">connectfw,<\/a>\u00a0where users can learn about upcoming in-person events and project updates.\u00a0The\u00a0project proposal is expected to be\u00a0finalized\u00a0by Spring 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>CEO of the Entrepreneurship\u00a0Network\u00a0Arianna Martinez,\u00a0first-year\u00a0supply\u00a0chain\u00a0management\u00a0major, encouraged\u00a0students to\u00a0come and take\u00a0part in the unique opportunity.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey can come\u00a0out,\u00a0they can share their ideas and help us help them.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0what we want,\u00a0how\u00a0can we help you advocate for\u00a0yourself,\u201d\u00a0Martinez said.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-24358\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/A3-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"  \/>City of Fort Worth Representatives and Entrepreneurship Network leaders gather for a photo at the end of the event. (<a href=\"https:\/\/therambler.org\/staff_profile\/josephine-juarez\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Josephine Juarez<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Gokcen\u00a0Ogruk,\u00a0associate professor of economics and\u00a0faculty adviser of the Entrepreneurship Network,\u00a0believes that this\u00a0experience\u00a0is helpful to all students regardless of\u00a0their major\u00a0or career\u00a0path.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis opportunity\u00a0benefits\u00a0all students by exposing them to real-world economic development strategies,\u00a0city planning insights\u00a0and data resources,\u201d\u00a0Ogruk\u00a0said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Martinez\u00a0expressed the importance of student engagement\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0city planning\u00a0process.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re the people that are going to be driving on the streets, walking the sidewalks, paying for the parking;\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0fueling the development because they get their money from\u00a0[our]\u00a0taxes,\u201d Martinez said. \u201cit\u2019s a great opportunity, a perfect time for students to actually advocate for what their money is going to.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"City of Fort Worth Planning Division Assistant Director Eric Fladager speaks during the Q&amp;A panel.
