Editor\u2019s note: Transcript provided by CoverGov<\/a>.<\/p>\n Carroll school district trustees on Feb. 2<\/a> promoted Carroll High School\u2019s football associate head coach and defensive coordinator Lee Munn<\/a> to head coach.\u00a0<\/p>\n Munn joined the staff in 2018, following the selection of Riley Dodge as head coach. In January, Dodge was named tight ends coach and pass game coordinator at SMU<\/a>. Dodge won 108 games and lost just 10 in eight seasons at Carroll.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cSo tonight we turn the page,\u201d said Cameron Bryan, Carroll school board president. \u201cAfter a thoughtful and deliberate process, this board has voted to name coach Lee Munn as the next head football coach at Carroll ISD.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The Southlake Carroll Dragons reached UIL<\/a> Class 6A state championship games in 2024 and 2020 under Dodge. The Dragons won eight football titles between 2011 and 1988.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cTonight we also get back to work,\u201c Bryan said. \u201cCoach Munn understands that great programs are built long before that opening day kickoff. They were built in meeting rooms, weight rooms, classrooms, and in the daily decisions to do things the right way.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Many players attended the board meeting, which paused proceedings for six minutes for pictures, hugs and handshakes.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Before joining Carroll, Munn worked under Todd Dodge, Riley Dodge\u2019s father, at Marble Falls and Austin Westlake high schools. Todd Dodge, currently head coach at Lucas Lovejoy, led Carroll to state titles in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cTo me it\u2019s a no-brainer that the assistant head coach would get the job,\u201d Todd Dodge<\/a> said. \u201cHe\u2019s ready. You\u2019ve prepared him for that.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Bryan said Munn is the 16th head football coach in program history.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe look forward to the impact you will make not only on the field, but in the lives of our students and throughout our community,\u201d Bryan added.\u00a0<\/p>\n Later at the meeting, during the board president\u2019s report, Bryan said the school district \u2014 among 1,200 Texas school districts \u2014 last week received the highest possible bond rating by Moody\u2019s<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cOnly about a dozen have achieved this distinction,\u201d Bryan said.\u00a0<\/p>\n Superintendent Jeremy Glenn later added that Carroll ISD has been able to provide meaningful pay increases to our school district staff, including a $2,000 stipend bonus this year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe also lowered the tax rate, and you continued to pay down district debt, helping us achieve a higher district financial rating,\u201d Glenn added.\u00a0<\/p>\n To learn more about how the transcript that informed this report was created, visit covergov.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n
