Police have arrested a suspect on suspicion of murder in connection with the fentanyl overdose death in May of a 26-year-old man at a house in north Fort Worth.<\/p>\n

Police have arrested a suspect on suspicion of murder in connection with the fentanyl overdose death in May of a 26-year-old man at a house in north Fort Worth.<\/p>\n

The Fort Worth Police Department\u2019s fugitive unit last week arrested Curtis Mukanza, 31, in the death of Cristian Hernandez at the house in the 9200 block of Paluxy Drive.<\/p>\n

Hernandez\u2019s death on May 28 was an accident caused by fentanyl toxicity, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After a few months of investigation, detectives successfully sought an arrest warrant for Mukanza, who was arrested also on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, according to a police department spokesperson.<\/p>\n

A state statute makes a person who sells fentanyl to someone who dies from exposure to the synthetic opioid eligible for prosecution on murder<\/a>.<\/p>\n
