{"id":163631,"date":"2026-02-13T20:14:11","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T20:14:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/163631\/"},"modified":"2026-02-13T20:14:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T20:14:11","slug":"medical-examiner-rules-texas-am-student-brianna-aguileras-cause-of-death-was-suicide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/163631\/","title":{"rendered":"Medical examiner rules Texas A&#038;M student Brianna Aguilera\u2019s cause of death was suicide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kwtx.com\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/kwtx.com\">AUSTIN, Texas (KWTX) &#8211;<\/a> The Travis County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office ruled Texas A&amp;M student Brianna Aguilera died as a result of suicide, according to an autopsy report obtained by KWTX.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Aguilera died after attending a tailgate for The Lone Star Showdown football game between Texas A&amp;M and the University of Texas on Nov. 28, 2025. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Austin Police Department reported Aguilera died just before 1 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, at a student apartment complex near the University of Texas campus.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"The Austin Police Department says Aguilera died just before 1 a.m. on Saturday, November 29,...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/4WVJ2J4VYNCURMNQQ3KD2MIFDM.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"544\" \/>The Austin Police Department says Aguilera died just before 1 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, at a student apartment complex near the University of Texas campus.(Source: Brianna Aguilera Family)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Her body was found unresponsive on the ground in front of the apartment building, police said, adding Aguilera was last seen alive in a friend\u2019s 17th floor apartment unit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cShe was witnessed having an argument on the phone,\u201d the autopsy report states, \u201cShe was then witnessed existing the living room via a door onto the balcony of the apartment, approximately 169 feet above where she was ultimately found on the ground below.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Aguilera\u2019s manner of death was listed as blunt trauma in the autopsy report. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Death of Brianna Aguilera ruled suicide by police\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/F75QF5KK7RDIZNWGQYXEKXKZ4E.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Death of Brianna Aguilera ruled suicide by police<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A police investigation revealed a \u201chistory of statements threatening self harm\/suicide,\u201d the autopsy report states. \u201cA suicide-type note addressed to multiple loved ones was found on her phone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIt is my opinion that the cause of death is blunt trauma. There was no indication based on law enforcement investigation that another individual was involved in the incident which resulted in the death,\u201d wrote Dr. Leticia Schuman, the deputy medical examiner in Travis County. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Aguilera was originally from the Laredo area and was a graduate of United High School, where she was a cheerleader and honors student.
