<\/p>\n OKLAHOMA CITY (February 13, 2026) \u2014 Lubbock Christian University’s fell behind early and had a comeback come up just short against Oklahoma Christian University 7-6 on Friday at Dobson Field.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Chaparrals’ offense tallied 11 hits, including a home run and four doubles, while successfully stealing a season high six bases, but the Eagles capitalized on a six-run third inning to secure the win.<\/p>\n The game started off about as well as possible for Lubbock Christian as Kyle Lewis<\/a> homered to deep left field to lead off. Owen Alsup<\/a> also had a hit in the inning, but they were unable to do any further damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n OC went scoreless in the first, but got on the board in the second inning. A single plated the run, but LCU kept the game tied by gunning down a baserunner at the plate.\u00a0<\/p>\n Lubbock Christian reclaimed the lead in the third inning. Hudson Grace<\/a> singled and stole second, setting up Joe Mancinas<\/a> for an RBI double down the right field line. However, the Eagles surged in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs and chasing Chap starting pitcher Kyle England<\/a> from the game. Ruben Castro’s two-run homer and Jontae Hennesy’s solo shot highlighted the inning, and a two-run homer by Liebbe extended their lead to 7-2. Logan Moore<\/a> came in and got the final out of the frame.\u00a0<\/p>\n Oklahoma Christian did not score again for the remainder of the game as the Chaps clawed their way back. In the fourth inning, Grace delivered an RBI double, scoring Roe Forrest<\/a> and narrowing the gap to 7-3. Then in the fifth Aaron Morales<\/a> doubled and scored on Jorge De Los Santos’s<\/a> RBI double. Tanner Pachorek’s<\/a> groundout brought in another run, cutting the deficit to 7-5.<\/p>\n The Chaps pulled within a run in the top of the seventh thanks to the legs of Jorge De Los Santos<\/a>. He avoided the double play when he hit a ground ball before stealing both second and third base, scoring on Pachorek’s two-out single. LCU had runners in scoring position in both the eighth and ninth, but were unable to push the tying run across.\u00a0<\/p>\n
