TAD: Remember to File Required Business Personal Property Renditions <\/p>\n

Tarrant Appraisal District (TAD) reminds business owners that it\u2019s time to file their required annual business personal property renditions.<\/p>\n


\nBusiness Personal Property (BPP) is taxable in Texas and it is identified as every kind of tangible, income-producing property that is not real estate.
\nA rendition is a report or statement by a business owner which lists a company\u2019s machinery, furniture, equipment, vehicles, merchandise and any other BPP that was in his\/her control or possession on January 1.
\nYour rendition is confidential by law. <\/p>\n

TAD sends reminder e-mails or letters in January to businesses on the tax roll that year and some new businesses that may be taxable in the new year.<\/p>\n


\nIf your business has not received a letter or you are new to Tarrant County, please visit\u00a0www.tad.org<\/a>\u00a0where you can file your rendition or extension online by creating an online dashboard through a login and password. If you prefer to file a\u00a0Rendition PDF<\/a>\u00a0or another form,\u00a0PDF forms<\/a>\u00a0are available from the TAD website as well. <\/p>\n

New for 2026: The 89th Legislature and voters approved a constitutional amendment for businesses to claim a $125,000 BPP exemption per location, subject to aggregation rules for related business entities. Still file your BPP rendition to certify if you’re under the threshold-even if you believe you qualify. Future renditions, after this tax year, will only be necessary if the value exceeds $125,000.<\/p>\n

Be sure to file your rendition by April 15 to avoid a 10% penalty on your tax statement.<\/p>\n

If you cannot file your rendition by April 15, you must request an extension in writing via US Mail or through the Tarrant Appraisal District website\u2019s online account service no later than April 15. TAD will not accept faxed or emailed renditions. Deadlines that fall on weekends and legal holidays are extended to the next regular business day.<\/p>\n
