{"id":165050,"date":"2026-02-14T22:10:05","date_gmt":"2026-02-14T22:10:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/165050\/"},"modified":"2026-02-14T22:10:05","modified_gmt":"2026-02-14T22:10:05","slug":"thousands-without-power-in-dallas-collin-counties-after-severe-storm-blows-through","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/165050\/","title":{"rendered":"Thousands without power in Dallas, Collin counties after severe storm blows through"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Thousands of homes are without <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/business\/energy\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/business\/energy\/\">power<\/a> Saturday afternoon following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2026\/02\/14\/where-are-severe-storms-most-likely-during-d-fws-valentines-day-rain\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2026\/02\/14\/where-are-severe-storms-most-likely-during-d-fws-valentines-day-rain\/\">severe thunderstorm<\/a> that swept across North Texas. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">As of 3:30 p.m., <a href=\"https:\/\/stormcenter.oncor.com\/?c=External%20Visibility&amp;o=option-9ea8acc1-8aa2-48dc-a3fb-eaa4f88727ca\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/stormcenter.oncor.com\/?c=External%20Visibility&amp;o=option-9ea8acc1-8aa2-48dc-a3fb-eaa4f88727ca\">Oncor\u2019s outage map<\/a> showed power is out to about 2,500 customers in Dallas County, 1,600 in Collin County and 600 people in Tarrant County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The National Weather Service issued a severe <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/wwamap\/wwatxtget.php?cwa=FWD&amp;wwa=severe%20thunderstorm%20warning\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/wwamap\/wwatxtget.php?cwa=FWD&amp;wwa=severe%20thunderstorm%20warning\" target=\"_blank\">thunderstorm warning <\/a>for portions of southeastern Dallas County Saturday afternoon, with storms capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and hail up to penny size, officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cOncor is monitoring a storm system moving across parts of the service area,\u201d a weather watch message on Oncor\u2019s website said. \u201cResources are available and will be working to restore power as needed in these areas. \u200bLocalized flooding in some areas may cause delays for restoration resources.
