FORT WORTH \u2013 James Weldon McDuff, Jr. (Jay) was born on July 7, 1953, and went on to meet our Lord Jesus Christ face-to-face on Monday, February 9, 2026. He had a deep-rooted faith in Jesus and also led many of his friends and family to relationships with Christ. Jay was devoted to his family, and he served as a wonderful example to all those who knew him. He had a great interest in learning new things, traveling to new places, and he loved to talk to everyone. He enjoyed time with family and friends and most of all, he loved to laugh. He was married to his beloved wife, Cheri, for 51 years. They met as teenagers and instantly fell in love. Jay was preceded in death by his father, James Weldon McDuff, Sr.; his mother, Billie Cecelia (Williams) McDuff; and his brother, Richard Neal McDuff. He is survived by the love of his life, Cheri Lynn (Souder) McDuff; and their two sons, James Weldon McDuff, III, and his wife, Valerie, and Jared Paul McDuff. He had six grandchildren, Kaylie, Marissa, Megan, Chloe, Micah, and Seth; and three great-grandchildren, Carter, Liam, and Ashton.
