Please check back for the latest information.<\/p>\n<p>Posted on Friday, Jan. 23:<\/p>\n<p>Garbage and Recycling<\/p>\n<p>Republic Services, the City of Arlington\u2019s contracted garbage and recycling collector, has announced it will not run commercial collection routes on Saturday, Jan. 24.<\/p>\n<p>The City will stay in close communication with Republic Services about any potential changes to residential and commercial collection services on Monday, Jan. 26 and Tuesday, Jan. 27.<\/p>\n<p>Follow the City of Arlington\u2019s social media at @cityofarlington or sign up for the e-newsletter at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arlingtontx.gov\/enews\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.arlingtontx.gov\/enews<\/a> to receive updates on service impacts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlingtontx.gov\/City-Services\/Garbage-Recycling\/Garbage-Recycling-Info\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Opens in New Window\" class=\"styled-button-calltoaction\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Arlington Garbage and Recycling webpage<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Arlington Public Library<\/p>\n<p>All seven of the City\u2019s public library locations are scheduled to be open during normal hours on Saturday, Jan. 24.<\/p>\n<p>All Library locations also serve as warming centers during normal business hours.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlingtontx.gov\/City-Services\/Library\/Library-Locations\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Opens in New Window\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Arlington Library Locations<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Jan. 25, the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library is scheduled to open its lobby and public restrooms at noon, which is two hours earlier than normal business hours. This is to provide a warm space for residents in need. The East Library and Recreation Center will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, but all other branches are closed as usual.<\/p>\n<p>Warming Centers and Overnight Shelters<\/p>\n<p>Need a place to warm up after the libraries and recreation centers close for the day? Three overnight shelters will be open through the winter storm thanks to partnerships with The Salvation Army, First United Methodist Church and Nations Church.The City of Arlington can provide residents in need with free transportation between one of the warming center locations to one of overnight shelters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlingtontx.gov\/News-Articles\/2026\/January\/Arlington-Warming-Centers-Overnight-Shelters-from-Jan.-23-27-2026\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Opens in New Window\" class=\"styled-button-calltoaction\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Warming Center and Overnight Shelter Information<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Resources for Homeless Guests with Pets:<\/p>\n<p>The Arlington Animal Services Shelter (accepts pets of homeless individuals as capacity allows). The shelter is located at 1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd. The phone number is 817-459-5898.<\/p>\n<p>Arlington Recreation Centers<\/p>\n<p>All recreation centers are scheduled to be open during normal hours on Saturday and Sunday (Dottie Lynn Recreation Center is closed on Sundays) These locations also serve as warming centers during normal business hours.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlingtontx.gov\/Parks-Places\/Facilities\/Recreation-Centers\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Opens in New Window\" class=\"styled-button-calltoaction\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Recreation Center Locations<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Arlington Golf Courses &amp; Restaurants<\/p>\n<p>The City of Arlington\u2019s four public golf courses \u2013 Tierra Verde Golf Club, Texas Rangers Golf Club, Lake Arlington Golf Course and Meadowbrook Golf Course \u2013 will remain closed at least through Monday, Jan. 27. The courses may reopen on Tuesday depending on weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The Home Plate Restaurant at Texas Rangers Golf Club and the Ventana Grille at Tierra Verde Golf Club will be closed Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlingtontx.gov\/Parks-Places\/Facilities\/Golf\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"opens in a new window\" class=\"styled-button-calltoaction\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Arlington Golf webpage<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Arlington Tennis Center<\/p>\n<p>The Arlington Tennis Center will be closed Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Animal Services<\/p>\n<p>Arlington Animal Services is scheduled to operate during normal hours on Saturday. The shelter is closed to the public on Sundays and Mondays.<\/p>\n<p>Public Transportation<\/p>\n<p>The City&#8217;s public transportation services, Handitran and Arlington On-Demand, will not operate on Saturday, Jan. 24 (neither operate on Sundays).
