FORT WORTH, Texas \u2013\u00a0No. 13 University of North Carolina gymnastics is set to compete at Metroplex Sunday at the Fort Worth Convention Center. Sunday’s competition features no. 17 Auburn, no. 21 NC State, and Boise State. The action is set to being at 8:15 p.m. ET.

\nThe Tar Heels competed at Metroplex last season in a dual meet against the eventual national champions, Oklahoma. UNC posted a score of 196.200 at the meet.

\nCarolina will face familiar foe, NC State for the third-straight meet on Sunday. The Tar Heels are 0-2 against the Wolfpack so far this season.\u00a0

\nUNC is set to meet Auburn and Boise State for the first time in several seasons. The Tar Heels last clashed with the Auburn Tigers in Carmichael Arena early in the 2022 season. Auburn downed Carolina 196.250-195.700. UNC last met Boise State in 2024 where they fell 196.250-195.150.\u00a0

\nAmong stiff competition, Carolina will look for JoJo Valahovic<\/a> and Gwen Fink<\/a> to lead the way. The pair is coming off two meets where they posted multiple event wins and career highs. Valahovic posted a 9.925 on vault in the previous two meets while tying her career-high of 9.950 on beam during Friday’s meet. In the first of two meets against NC State, Fink posted a career-high 9.950 on bars to tie for the third best score in program history. The senior followed with a win in the all-around (39.250) in the Tar Heels and Wolfpack’s second meeting.\u00a0

\n\tJoJo Valahovic<\/a> tied her career-high of 9.950 on beam in the meet against NC State Friday. The sophomore also recorded a 9.925 on vault for the second consecutive meet.\u00a0
\n\tSydney Seabrooks<\/a> recorded a 9.925 on floor for the fifth meet this season where the freshman recorded a 9.900 or higher on the event.\u00a0
\n\tGwen Fink<\/a> won the all-around against NC State Friday with a score of 39.250.\u00a0
\n\tUNC ranks no. 13 in the nation and no. 2 in the ACC heading into week six of the season.
\n\tKaya Forbes<\/a>\u00a0ranks 10th in the country and first in the ACC on vault.
\n\tSydney Seabrooks<\/a>\u00a0is tied for 16th in the NCAA on floor.
\n\tThe team ranks in the top 25 in the NCAA on all five events (Vault \u2013 no. 9, AA \u2013 no. 13, Floor \u2013 no. 16, Beam \u2013 no. 19, Bars \u2013 no. 21).
\n\tAfter recording a 9.925 on vault, JoJo Valahovic<\/a> was named ACC Co-Specialist of the Week (Feb. 10). This marks the third time this season the sophomore has recorded a 9.900 or higher on the event.
\n\tGwen Fink<\/a> recorded a career-high and program’s third-best score on bars against NC State (9.950).
\n\tJessica Naranjo<\/a>, Sydney Seabrooks<\/a>, and JoJo Valahovic<\/a> all recorded a 9.900 on their respective events against Clemson. Naranjo and Valahovic were crowned event winners on beam after posting season-high scores of 9.900.
\n\tAfter recording a 9.950 on floor for the two consecutive meets,\u00a0Sydney Seabrooks<\/a>\u00a0was tabbed ACC Specialist of the Week (Jan. 20).
\n\tGwen Fink<\/a>\u00a0was tabbed ACC Gymnast of the Week (Jan. 14) after winning the All-Around title in the season opener at Florida with a score of 39.475.
\n\tThe Tar Heels were picked to finish fourth in the ACC Preseason Poll.\u00a0
\n\tCarolina secured second place while recording a program record score on the road (196.675) in the season opening quad meet at Florida.
\n\tGwen Fink<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Kaya Forbes<\/a>\u00a0were named to the ACC Preseason Watchlist while\u00a0Sydney Seabrooks<\/a>\u00a0was featured on the Preseason Newcomer List.\u00a0
