EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Several migrants were apprehended following a high-speed chase in east El Paso on Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n

Around 11:53 a.m., a Texas DPS Trooper was on routine patrol in El Paso County. <\/p>\n

The trooper saw a silver Volkswagen passenger vehicle near the Yarbrough Drive exit and attempted to stop the Volkswagen for a traffic violation. <\/p>\n

The driver of the Volkswagen failed to stop, officials said. <\/p>\n

This led to a vehicle pursuit. <\/p>\n

Officials said the vehicle came to a stop, resulting in a bail out, followed by a foot pursuit near Yarbrough and Mazatl\u00e1n Dr. <\/p>\n

Ultimately, a total of five illegal immigrants were apprehended and referred to the U.S. Border Patrol. <\/p>\n

The driver, along with one of the passengers, was from Mexico. <\/p>\n

The other 3 passengers were from Ecuador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. <\/p>\n

This investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
