ANYON, Texas \u2013\u00a0West Texas A&M Track & Field registered 14 NCAA provisional marks including a pair of school records during their final tune-up for the LSC Indoor Championships as the Buffs and Lady Buffs competed at the Jarvis Scott Open and the BU David Hemery Valentines Invitational.

\nJames Dadzie<\/a> began Friday’s action in Lubbock with a time of 6.69 in the prelims of the men’s 60m dash followed by a 6.62 in the semis to punch his ticket to the finals, the semifinal time of 6.62 tied for 8th\u00a0on WT’s Top-10 list.

\nBlessing Akintoye<\/a> continued her impressive indoor campaign as the junior set a new school record in the women’s 400m with a mark of 53.01 on her birthday to win the event. Akintoye would smash her second school record of the weekend on Saturday afternoon with a time of 23.70 in the 200m to finish 6th\u00a0overall.

\nDeborah Acheampong<\/a> tallied a personal best mark of 23.95 in the 200m to tie the 8th\u00a0fastest time in program history, finishing 10th\u00a0in the event. Oyeyoni Oyewale-Johnson<\/a> tied the 10th\u00a0best mark in WT history in the triple jump (15.31) on his opening attempt to finish 4th\u00a0overall.

\nBU David Hemery Valentine Invitational
\nThe Buffs started things off in Boston on Friday as Emil Meggle<\/a> registered the 2nd\u00a0fastest indoor 800m mark in school history (1:49.09) to finish 25th\u00a0overall in the invitational section. The 5,000m field featured five Buffs led by Adrian Legarreta’s<\/a> 55th\u00a0place finish (13:58.98) for the 8th\u00a0best time in school history. Tobias Ritter<\/a> finished 87th\u00a0(14:07.88) followed by Branch Cox<\/a> in 105th(14:14.25), Tommaso Toppi<\/a> in 155th\u00a0(14:36.18) and Fintan Kavanagh<\/a> in 177th\u00a0(14:53.61).\u00a0

\nAbigail Abugire<\/a> picked up a 21st\u00a0place finish in the 800m invitational section as the sophomore ran a time of 2:06.47 for the 2ndfastest time in school history. The 3,000m included a pair of Lady Buffs as Kalkidan Vincendeau<\/a> finished 39th\u00a0(9:23.54) followed by Sarah Koomson<\/a> in 43rd\u00a0(9:25.14) out of 207 runners in the field. Vincendeau’s time was good enough for 6th\u00a0on the all-time Lady Buff Top-10 followed by Koomson’s mark in 7th.

\nThe women’s 5K closed out the meet in Boston as Naomi Addo<\/a> finished 72nd\u00a0overall with a time of 16:41.14 followed by Julie Lafare<\/a> in 105th\u00a0(16:59.62) and Lexi Maul<\/a> in 141st\u00a0(18:31.20).\u00a0
