LUBBOCK, Texas \u2013 Texas Tech closed out its last day of competition over the weekend with a 5-2 victory over the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday afternoon at the McLeod Tennis Center. After dropping the doubles point, the Red Raiders (6-2) bounced back by winning five single matches to secure the match.

\nIn doubles, New Mexico (3-7) claimed a win on court three over Thomas Van Den Dooren<\/a> and Ludovico Vaccari<\/a>, 6-4, shortly before the Red Raider duo Sebastian Abboud<\/a> and Tyler Stewart<\/a> won on court two, 6-4, over Tyler Waddock and Connor Dils. Court three, finished on a tiebreaker in favor of the New Mexico Lobos, 7-6 (6), as they took the doubles point.

\nTexas Tech responded quickly in singles as Niksa Arsic<\/a> took the first point for the Red Raiders on court one with a quick, 6-2, 6-2, win to even the score to 1-1. Arsic’s win was followed closely by Thiago Guglieri<\/a> on court six over the Lobo Dils, in another matching set for the Red Raiders at 6-2, 6-2. Vaccari added to the Red Raider lead with a 6-4, 6-2, win on court three over Jakub Prachar and Abboud secured the clinching point on court five over Waddock, 6-4, 6-3, to make the score 4-1.

\nAfter the match was clinched, Stewart fell to Philip Bosin, 6-3, 7-5, on court two, on court four Felipe Pagnaaco finished off the match defeating Alberto Perez after two tiebreakers,6-3, 6-7 (7), 1-0 (8) to give the Red Raiders a 5-2 win.

\nUp next, the Red Raiders head to Bloomington, Ind., to compete against the Hoosiers on Friday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. CT.
