Have the Cowboys given any thought to trying Brevyn Spann-Ford at offensive tackle? At 6’7″ and 270 pounds and considered by the Cowboys to be an outstanding blocker, it would seem like he might be a good fit, much like Rayfield Wright, who transitioned from tight end to become a Hall of Fame offensive tackle for the Cowboys. \u2013 Crawford Bunkley\/*Cypress*, TX<\/p>\n
Patrik: Slow news day, huh? In all seriousness though, the answer is a resounding “no”. First, Spann-Ford is arguably the second-best option at tight end in Dallas, depending on the situation, and could very well develop to be one hell of a complement to Jake Ferguson. Second, if the Cowboys need to convert a tight end to tackle, and in the third year of his NFL career, go ahead and burn everything down because … yuck. What Rayfield Wright was able to do was outstanding … in the 1960s and 1970s.
