A new study is purporting that several restaurant chains are bouncing back years after the global pandemic, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/food\/article\/sonic-drive-in-closed-san-antonio-21104750.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:one that has seen a decline in San Antonio;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">one that has seen a decline in San Antonio<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The study, conducted by Restaurant Furniture, looked at Google search trends between 2021 and 2025. Based on the data, the company ranked the 10 chains that saw the biggest jumps in search interest. Oklahoma-based Sonic Drive-In topped the list, with searches reportedly soaring 1,601% over four years. Some might call Sonic the comeback kid, but things look a bit different in the Alamo City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Despite these findings, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/food\/article\/sonic-kung-fu-baobao-san-antonio-21145333.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Sonic Drive-In has seen many closures;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Sonic Drive-In has seen many closures<\/a> across San Antonio in recent years, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/food\/article\/sonic-san-antonio-closure-19658257.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:locations on De Zavala Road;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">locations on De Zavala Road<\/a>, Zarzamora Street, Ingram Road, Nacogdoches Road, Pat Booker Road and Culebra Road all closing since 2024, based on previous MySA reporting.
