{"id":16900,"date":"2025-10-23T04:27:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T04:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/16900\/"},"modified":"2025-10-23T04:27:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T04:27:08","slug":"motorcyclist-dies-days-after-south-austin-crash-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/16900\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorcyclist dies days after South Austin crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AUSTIN, Texas \u2014 A 34-year-old man has died from his injuries days after a motorcycle collision in South Austin on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Austin police responded to the crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 7:24 p.m. in the 9500 block of South 1st Street.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cbsaustin.com\/news\/local\/leander-man-arrested-for-murder-in-april-fentanyl-overdose-case\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/cbsaustin.com\/news\/local\/leander-man-arrested-for-murder-in-april-fentanyl-overdose-case\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ALSO| Leander man arrested for murder in April fentanyl overdose case<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The motorcyclist, later identified as Mario Esai Navarro, was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, was not impaired, and cooperated with the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The incident marks Austin&#8217;s 77th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 81 fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information is urged to contact APD&#8217;s Vehicular Homicide Unit at 512-974-8111. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477.
