The booming economy in Montgomery County north of Houston is resulting in lots of new jobs, and the same is true of new pipeline construction project have been getting underway.<\/p>\n
County Judge Mark Keough says the county has a tradition of keeping a close eye on infrastructure so that it doesn’t interfere with economic growth, and that includes oil and gas pipelines as well as water lines.<\/p>\n
“So far so good, we have managed to get them to put their pipelines and their pump stations in safe areas,” he says.<\/p>\n
But he says the county is insistent on safety, even though it has little jurisdiction over oil and gas pipelines.<\/p>\n
