Hobby on Wednesday morning after a passenger attempted to enter the cockpit, airline officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Delta told Houston&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chron.com\/news\/houston-texas\/article\/hobby-airport-cockpit-breached-21360334.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Chron;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Chron<\/a> news outlet that the passenger was &#8220;exhibiting unruly and unlawful behavior&#8221; toward fellow passengers during the Flight 2557, which departed around 5:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The pilot of the flight declared an emergency after the passenger allegedly tried to access the cockpit, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/02\/18\/us\/delta-emergency-landing-houston\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:CNN;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">CNN<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;We had a passenger get up and try to access the cockpit,&#8221; the pilot said over radio communications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Can you coordinate and have security standing by?&#8221; the pilot asked air traffic control. He is &#8220;in cuffs in the back of the aircraft, but he did assault another passenger, so we would like that other passenger checked out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Houston police told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chron.com\/news\/houston-texas\/article\/hobby-airport-cockpit-breached-21360334.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:KRIV-TV;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">KRIV-TV<\/a> in Houston that the passenger causing the disturbance may have been experiencing a mental health crisis.
