Henderson Elementary School<\/p>\n<p>Port Houston Elementary School<\/p>\n<p>Ross Elementary School<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Miles cited declining enrollment and the cost of maintaining aging facilities as key reasons behind the decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cWhen students are spread across underutilized buildings in need of significant repair, it limits the resources and opportunities we can provide,\u201d Miles said in a district video. \u201cDecisions like these are difficult but necessary to ensure we are using our resources responsibly and focusing on what matters most, which is our students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">What Happens Next<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">HISD\u2019s board of managers ultimately will determine whether to approve the closure plans.
