Oklahoma State University football fans are going viral for their unique show of support for the team during Saturday\u2019s game against Houston.<\/p>\n
Hundreds of shirtless fans took over sections of Boone Pickens Stadium, waving their shirts around.<\/p>\n
A Simple Bet<\/p>\n
It all started as a bet between brother and sister to rile some fans up during the OSU game.<\/p>\n
\u201cI made a remark saying, \u2018Look over there,\u201d\u2019 said Trent Eaton. \u201cThere\u2019s about four sections that are completely empty. Then a couple seconds later, she\u2019s like, \u2018I\u2019ll give you $10 dollars if you go over there, take your shirt off, and wave it.\u2019 I said, \u2018Okay.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n
What began as just a few shirtless fans waving their shirts around grew to hundreds and more, trying to get the crowd and the team going.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe came back after halftime and just saw all those empty seats, and that\u2019s not what I\u2019m used to for OSU to be,\u201d said Callista Bradford. \u201cSo I was like, \u2018Hey, go over there, let\u2019s wave it, get it out, and see what happens. Get a little rowdy, because that\u2019s what we needed.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
So with that $10 bet as motivation, Eaton made it happen.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt first, I thought I was going to be the only one,\u201d said Eaton. \u201cBut then somebody else showed up, then more people showed up, then more people showed up, then once it actually started taking off, it was just fun to be a part of.\u201d\u201cHe\u2019s a wild one and he\u2019s pretty much up for a good time, no matter what,\u201d said Bradford. \u201cSo that\u2019s why I figured he would do it. And my nephew and the girlfriend we just met for the first time, so it was a little bit of inspiration he needed to show he was going to go.\u201dGoing Viral<\/p>\n
The videos have gotten millions of views, and this reaction is something neither of them expected.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow crazy is this?\u201d said Eaton. \u201cJust doing something as simple as taking off your shirt and waving it turned into thousands of people wanting to watch or join in or whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n
They\u2019re embracing it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m glad that there\u2019s something good coming back to OSU, some fame for something that\u2019s fun and nice and just having a good time and not some of the bad things that have been happening to us this year,\u201d said Bradford.Spreading Joy<\/p>\n
They hope that whether the tradition continues or not for the next game, it made Cowboy fans smile on Saturday in Boone Pickens Stadium.<\/p>\n
