San Antonio police and Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of two men accused of robbing an 85-year-old man after persuading him to give them a ride from a Northwest Side Costco in late August.<\/p>\n
The incident happened Aug. 28 at the Costco in the 5600 block of\u00a0UTSA Boulevard, according to a news release from Crime Stoppers.<\/a><\/p>\n Investigators said an older man approached the victim in the store’s parking lot and asked for a ride to a nearby pharmacy.\u00a0The victim agreed and drove the man to a Walgreens, where another older man joined them, police said.<\/p>\n ALSO READ: San Antonio woman gets probation in fake diploma scheme<\/a><\/p>\n Police said the pair then took the victim’s phone and forced him to drive to a bank, where they coerced him into withdrawing a large amount of cash.<\/p>\n Fearing for his safety, the victim complied.<\/p>\n Once the suspects got the money, they fled in what police described as a white 2006 Ford Explorer.<\/p>\n Anyone with information about the suspects is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of San Antonio at 210-224-STOP (7867), use the P3 Tips app, or visit\u00a0www.sacrimestoppers.com<\/a><\/p>\n Tips are anonymous, and cash rewards are available only for information submitted directly to Crime Stoppers that leads to a felony arrest.<\/p>\n
