Meekins led LCU with five points in the quarter and had two of LCU’s three field goals, as they shot just 25% (3/12) from the field.

In a tightly contested second quarter, ASU maintained a narrow lead over the Lady Chaps, outscoring the visitors 18-16. Kennedy Chappell contributed significantly for the Lady Chaps with a layup at 8:57 and an assist on Kimber Mathews’ three-pointer at 7:31, which capped a 7-2 run to open the second quarter and gave LCU an 18-17 lead. ASU responded with a 14-2 run and took a 31-20 lead. LCU did grab momentum heading into the locker room, as Raegan Lee had LCU’s final five points of the half, as LCU closed the half on a 7-2 run over the final two minutes of the half to trail 33-27.

Lubbock Christian narrowed the gap in the third quarter against ASU, outscoring them 12-10. Tia Johnson contributed significantly for the Lady Chaps, scoring a layup at 7:45 and following up with a defensive rebound. With 4:07 left in the quarter Taylor Allen drained a three-pointer to cap a 9-2 run (combined form the 7-2 run to close the first half, it was a combined 16-4 run) to briefly give the Chaps a 36-35 lead. With LCU leading 38-37, the Belles went on a 6-0 run and took a 43-39 lead into the final frame. The Chaps responded with a series of baskets, including a three-pointer from Chappell at 5:56, narrowing the gap to 52-50.
