OXXO USA on Thursday welcomed the Mexican quick-service restaurant chain Gorditas Do\u00f1a Tota into one of its locations in El Paso, Texas.<\/p>\n
The addition, in what OXXO calls a \u201cclip-in format,\u201d is part of the convenience-store chain\u2019s aim of continuing \u201cto strengthen its value proposition and making our customers\u2019 lives easier and providing them with delicious food,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n
FEMSA, which owns OXXO convenience stores, is\u00a0No. 33\u00a0<\/a>on\u00a0CSP\u2019s\u00a02025 Top 202<\/a>\u00a0ranking of U.S. c-store chains by store count.<\/p>\n Gorditas Do\u00f1a Tota sells freshly prepared gorditas, tacos, Mexican stews and more, OXXO said.<\/p>\n This is the second such addition in as many months, as OXXO in January held a grand opening for its first Ditsch artisan bread store<\/a> inside another one of its convenience stores, also in El Paso. In a\u00a0LinkedIn post<\/a>\u00a0announcing the opening, Carlos\u00a0Garc\u00eda\u00a0Montemayor, OXXO USA\u2019s marketing director, called this \u201can important step to strengthen our food proposal.\u201d<\/p>\n These are OXXO USA\u2019s first two clip-in formats in U.S. stores, and the second Gorditas Do\u00f1a Tota clip-in in the El Paso market, OXXO said.<\/p>\n The Gorditas Do\u00f1a Tota addition is an opportunity to try new formats that add value for customers and respond to local consumption habits, OXXO said.<\/p>\n Montemayor said, \u201cAt OXXO, we believe that convenience can also be flavorful. Integrating Do\u00f1a Tota into our stores allows us to offer a friendly, practical and authentic experience, designed to be enjoyed in minutes so customers can get on with their day.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The company said, \u201cWith initiatives like this, OXXO USA continues to evolve its takeout food offerings, integrating brands that add quality, tradition and new experiences to its stores.\u201d<\/p>\n Beverage corporation and convenience-store retailer Fomento Economico Mexicano S.A.B. of C.V. (FEMSA), which owns OXXO, acquired the Ditsch brand when it bought its parent, the Swiss company Valora, in 2022. Valora has convenience stores and foodservice operations in Switzerland, Germany and other European countries. FEMSA is based in Monterrey, Mexico.<\/p>\n These additions come as OXXO is in the midst of the\u00a0rebranding the 249 DK convenience stores<\/a>\u00a0it\u00a0purchased<\/a>\u00a0from Brentwood, Tennessee-based\u00a0Delek US Holdings<\/a>\u00a0in October 2024, marking its entrance into the United States.<\/p>\n As of October 2025, it had rebranded 50 DK stores and plans to rebrand 77 more through 2027. The retailer announced these plans at a press conference in October in El Paso as it celebrated its one-year anniversary of acquiring the Delek US Holdings c-stores.<\/p>\n OXXO rebranded seven DK stores in the El Paso area in 2025, and it will rebrand 35 in 2026 and another 35 by the end of 2027, Hal Adams, then the managing director for OXXO USA who retired at the end of 2025<\/a>, said at the time. This accounts for the 77 DK stores in the El Paso area.\u00a0<\/p>\n FEMSA started\u00a0rebranding<\/a>\u00a0c-stores in February 2025, focusing on the Midland-Odessa and Lubbock metro areas in West Texas.<\/p>\n
