The NFL<\/a> offseason is underway with a multitude of roster decisions to be made. Among those teams, the Dallas Cowboys have numerous to make.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys have made a big commitment to a key playmaker on offense. It has been reported<\/a> that running back Javonte Williams has agreed to a three-year contract extension.<\/p>\n

The contract extension has a value of $24M. That\u2019s good for an $8M average per year for the sixth year back out of North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Williams joined the Cowboys last offseason to compete for a starting job. He answered the call with a big season in Big D.<\/p>\n

Williams accumulated over 1,200 yards rushing\u2013almost exceeding his last two years of production in Denver. He missed only one game and scored a total of 13 touchdowns.<\/p>\n

He was a key part of their offense that included Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens. Pickens is also in the final year of his deal.<\/p>\n

Dallas likely will try to get Pickens on a long-term deal, but all signs point to a franchise tag incoming. Could this move have shown their decision on a long-term commitment to Williams instead of Pickens?<\/p>\n
