INDIANAPOLIS \u2014 Now that running back Javonte Williams has agreed to terms<\/a>, the Cowboys are in talks to extend the contract of kicker Brandon Aubrey.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been working on a long-term deal for some time,\u201d Cowboys co-owner Stephen Jones told The Dallas Morning News on Sunday. \u201cWe\u2019ve exchanged offers and the goal is to get him signed. We\u2019ll tender him before the deadline if that\u2019s what we have to decide.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aubrey, one of the better kickers in the NFL, is a restricted free agent, and the Cowboys can place either a first-round or second-round tender on him.<\/a><\/p>\n

Last season, Aubrey earned his third Pro Bowl berth as he converted 85.7% of his field goal tries. Aubrey\u2019s range is unreal. He holds the NFL record with six made field goals from 60 or more yards and, in a loss against Detroit, he became the first kicker in league history to make three field goals of 55 or more yards in a single game. <\/a><\/p>\n

When it comes to Williams, the Cowboys agreed to terms on a three-year deal worth $24 million with $16 million guaranteed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love him. He wants to be here, so that part is accomplished,\u201d Jones said.<\/p>\n
