A Fort Bend County Sheiff’s deputy was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle while attempting to help a stranded motorist Saturday morning and is recovering in a hospital.<\/p>\n
The driver who hit the officer drove off after the incident about 3:45 am along I-10 the Katy Freeway at Eldridge in West Houston.<\/p>\n
The Sheriff’s Department says the deputy was in his personal car when he stopped to help. <\/p>\n
He’s listed in critical but stable condition, with no other details available.<\/p>\n
