Texas country music stars George Strait and Miranda Lambert were inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame by the Texas Heritage Songwriters Association at ACL Live on Saturday, along with veteran songwriter Don Cook and late country singer Keith Gattis. All four were presented with the \u201cWillie\u201d award, which signifies their impact on country music.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast night was one I will never forget as long as I live,\u201d Lambert wrote on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cBeing inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame along with King George, Keith Gattis and Don Cook was the biggest honor I could ever dream of.\u201d<\/p>\n Saturday night marked the 20th anniversary of the Texas Heritage Songwriters Association awards show and featured performances by Brooks & Dunn, Parker McCollum, Jamey Johnson and Dean Dillon.<\/p>\n \u201cSo happy to see George Strait get inducted into the Texas Songwriters HOF last night. So proud for him!\u201d former Texas Longhorns football coach Mack Brown wrote on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n Lambert \u2014 who hosted a star-studded benefit concert<\/a> in August following last year’s devastating July 4 Central Texas floods \u2014 co-wrote the song \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d<\/a> alongside breakout country star Ella Langley, which recently reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/p>\n \u201cTexas is always home, and the music that came from our great state is the music that built me,\u201d Lambert wrote. \u201cBig Lone Star love to all that have supported me all these years. My heart is full.\u201d<\/p>\n In January, Strait announced he will play two nights at Austin\u2019s Moody Center<\/a> on April 9 and 11. The next day, he added two more dates<\/a> \u2014 May 15 and 16 \u2014 due to overwhelming demand. He previously played the arena\u2019s 2022 grand opening with two sold-out shows, the first of which included a guest appearance from Willie Nelson.<\/p>\n While official tickets for Strait\u2019s Austin shows quickly sold out, some are still available on resale websites such as StubHub, TickPick, Vivid Seats, SeatGeek and Ticketmaster’s in-house verified resale marketplace. Prices vary widely by site, with some seats listed for well over $1,000. Prices are likely to fluctuate as the show dates approach.<\/p>\n
