1.\u00a0American, Southwest airlines cancel flights to Mexico following killing of cartel leader<\/a><\/p>\n

Dallas-based carriers American Airlines and Southwest Airlines are warning of flight delays or cancellations because of civil unrest in Mexico. Gov. Greg Abbott has also issued a travel warning to the area.<\/p>\n

This comes as the result of the death of\u00a0Nemesio Rub\u00e9n Oseguera Cervantes, known as \u201cEl Mencho,\u201d who was the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Texas early voting turnout exceeds 2024 primary elections, so far<\/a><\/p>\n

There\u2019s one week left for early voting for the March primaries, and so far, voters seem to be flocking to the polls.<\/p>\n

According to data from the\u00a0Texas Secretary of State<\/a>, in Dallas County, more than double the amount of voters have cast an early ballot in the 2026 primaries than in the 2024 primaries, which occurred during a presidential election year.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Texas cities dominate financial distress rankings<\/a><\/p>\n

According to\u00a0a study from WalletHub<\/a>, Texas has four cities in the top 10 places in the country that have the most people experiencing financial distress.<\/p>\n

Houston is the top Texas city, at No. 2 on the list, with Dallas, San Antonio and Austin coming in at Nos. 4, 6 and 9, respectively.<\/p>\n

A San Antonio-based organization is helping Afghans across the state avoid falling victim to immigration scams and other \u201cunauthorized\u201d legal practices.<\/p>\n
