With complicated infatuations, these are leading characters of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/performing-arts\/2026\/02\/07\/review-dallas-opera-presents-rachel-portmans-the-little-prince\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/performing-arts\/2026\/02\/07\/review-dallas-opera-presents-rachel-portmans-the-little-prince\/\">Dallas Opera<\/a>\u2019s 2026-27 season. Each opera will be sung in its original language, with English supertitles, in four performances at the Winspear Opera House.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The main-stage season begins with Donizetti\u2019s The Elixir of Love (Oct. 9, 11, 14 and 17), about a lovesick young man, the wary object of his love and the effects of a \u201clove potion\u201d that turns out to be wine. Staged by Stephen Lawless in post-World War II Italy, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/performing-arts\/2025\/08\/05\/review-wagner-verdi-and-britten-at-santa-fe-opera\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/performing-arts\/2025\/08\/05\/review-wagner-verdi-and-britten-at-santa-fe-opera\/\">Santa Fe Opera<\/a> production features Anthony Le\u00f3n as Nemorino, Soraya Mafi as Adina and Alessandro Corbelli as Dr. Dulcamara.  Conductor Guillermo Garc\u00eda Calvo makes his TDO debut.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The remaining three operas will be conducted by music director Emmanuel Villaume.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/performing-arts\/2025\/07\/09\/reviews-outstanding-opera-in-iowa-yes-indeed\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/performing-arts\/2025\/07\/09\/reviews-outstanding-opera-in-iowa-yes-indeed\/\">Leo\u0161 Jan\u00e1\u010dek\u2018s Cunning Little Vixen<\/a> (Oct. 30 and Nov. 1, 4 and 7) features Mirjam Mesak in the title role, with Zachary Nelson as the Forester and Shannon Keegan as the Fox. In a staging originally by Francesca Zambello, revived by Anna Maria Bruzzese, Anna Pirozzi portrays Turandot, with Jorge Puerta as Calaf and Gabriella Reyes as Li\u00f9. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">A new Louis D\u00e9sir\u00e9 staging of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/performing-arts\/2023\/03\/30\/review-metropolitan-opera-goes-big-with-rosenkavalier-and-lohengrin\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/performing-arts\/2023\/03\/30\/review-metropolitan-opera-goes-big-with-rosenkavalier-and-lohengrin\/\">Wagner\u2019s Lohengrin<\/a> (March 5, 7, 10 and 13) features Saimir Pirgu in the title role, Kathleen O\u2019Mara as Elsa, Lise Lindstrom as Ortrud and Aleksey Bogdanov as Telramund.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The company also will present the Hart Institute for Women Conductors Showcase Concert on Jan. 30, 2027, soprano Christiane Karg in the Titus Family Recital on Jan. 31 and the McCasland Lone Star Vocal Competition on March 12. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Family productions will be The Bremen Town Musicians (Oct. 17 and 21) and a shortened version of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/performing-arts\/2026\/02\/07\/review-dallas-opera-presents-rachel-portmans-the-little-prince\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/performing-arts\/2026\/02\/07\/review-dallas-opera-presents-rachel-portmans-the-little-prince\/\">Rachel Portman\u2019s The Little Prince<\/a> (Nov. 8 and 13).<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Subscriptions are now available at 214-443-1000 or <a href=\"https:\/\/dallasopera.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/dallasopera.org\/\">dallasopera.org<\/a>.
