DUNCAN, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A missing teen is believed to be in Texas, according to the Duncan Police Department.<\/p>\n

Police told FOX Carolina that Clare Lanning left Byrnes High School on Feb. 18 around 10 a.m.<\/p>\n

Lanning was last seen walking toward Interstate 85 on Highway 290, according to police.<\/p>\n

She communicated with her legal guardian and told the guardian she was in the Austin, Texas, area. The communication then stopped, police said.<\/p>\n

Police say Lanning was last seen wearing blue jeans, white Crocs, a black cable-knit sweater and carrying a turquoise backpack.<\/p>\n

At this time, police consider her endangered.<\/p>\n

Police say the investigation is active and they are following up on tips.<\/p>\n
